The critically acclaimed director Selvaraghavan, who recently turned actor, is currently busy with the final works of his next film ‘Naane Varuven’, starring his brother Dhanush. The siblings have teamed up for a movie after almost a decade.
Not only Selvaraghhavan has directed the story penned by Dhanush but also he is sharing screen space with his brother for the first time. On the other hand, Selvaraghavan has announced earlier in 2020 and 2021 that he will be directing the sequels to his cult films ‘Pudhupettai’ and ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ with Dhanush in the lead role.
The latest is that Selvaraghavan spilled a bean on his future plans about the sequels while addressing the media on June 19. The director reportedly stated that he will first be directing ‘Pudhupettai 2’ before ‘Aayirathil Oruvan 2’. According to our sources, both films are expected to hit the screens in 2024. He is expected to start the works for the sequels after the release of ‘Naane Varuven’.
‘Pudhupettai’ is a trendsetting gangster drama in Tamil cinema, which featured Dhanush in his infamous role of Kokki Kumar while Sneha and Sonia Aggarwal played the female leads. ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ is a historical fiction revolving around three voyagers locating the lost city and bloodline of the Cholas starring Karthi, Andrea and Reema Sen. Dhanush is expected to take up the role of Chola prince in the sequel.
