JTBC has finally given fans a new glimpse of its highly-anticipated upcoming survival program “Peak Time”!
“Peak Time” is a new idol survival program in which male idols who have already debuted will be competing as teams for the chance to become the next “worldwide idol group.” It was previously announced that Lee Seung Gi will be hosting the program, while Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, WINNER‘s Song Mino, Jay Park, Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany, Highlight’s Lee Gikwang, and INFINITE’s Kim Sungkyu will be the judges.
On February 9, “Peak Time” released its very first teaser video along with photos of the 23 teams that have made it on to the show. However, true to the program’s intention of focusing on the contestants’ skills first and foremost, the poster does not disclose the teams’ names and instead just writes “Team 1,” “Team 2,” and so on below their pictures.
Get a look at the teams below!
As for the teaser, the video starts with MC Lee Seung Gi announcing, “Fierce competition to become global idols. ‘Peak Time,’ survival round begins now.”
Following this, the contestants express their fiery determination ahead of their first stage by saying, “This is a war. This is a bloodbath,” “We have no place to back down now,” “Our members are really good and skillful, that’s why I thought we won’t lose. We can’t lose,” and “Just like we always do, we’ll tear up the stage and come down.”
From Song Mino exclaiming, “It’s getting hot in here. It’s like you just did a concert,” to Jay Park excitedly shouting, “They tore [the stage] up,” anticipations are high to see what performances and teams the comments are directed to.
Just before the teaser ends, viewers’ curiosity rises even more upon the entrance of an unexpected participant who makes INFINITE’s Kim Sungkyu go, “I know you, I know your team. Why are you here?” Who is the participant that shocked everyone including the judges?
